About Us
Northside Community
Service is a community-based, not for profit organisation that was founded
in 1976 through the efforts of concerned people wanting to provide and
develop support and services for residents of North
Canberra. Northside
Community Service has, through its achievements, demonstrated its value as
a member of the Canberra
community and the community services network across the ACT.
Today Northside Community Service employs over 95 permanent
and casual staff, 50 volunteers, operates an annual budget of over $5.5
million, and boasts the delivery of diverse services across the Australian Capital Territory
within six key departments.
The
challenge for the future is to ensure that our organisation can continue to
be a leader in community services by expanding, enhancing and maintaining
services and being creative in meeting community needs and
development. The plan includes a
range of new directions for Northside Community Service. The strategic actions detailed in the
plan will underpin the strength and readiness of our organisation to
provide new and innovative services to the Canberra region.
